Falmouth Harbour was created in 1870 and is managed by a Harbour Board of 7 Non-Executive Directors (Commissioners) who oversee the statutory and regulatory management of the Harbour and are the duty holder for safety under the Ports & Marine Facilities Safety Code (PMSC).
Nigel’s career spans over 30 years working in senior executive and board level positions in both private and public sector organisations. His career has focused on supporting the economic and social regeneration of communities and business including CPR Regeneration in Cornwall and most recently as Chief Executive of Enterprise Oxfordshire. He relocated back to Cornwall with his wife in 2023 and has also joined the Board of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change.
Andrew is land manager and business owner outside Bodmin. He brings a diverse view on the workings of business with specific interest in diversification and enhancement. He currently holds posts with the Country Land and Business Association and the Cornwall Agri-Food Council. Andrew joined the Board in July 2019.
Miles joined Falmouth Harbour as CEO in 2021. Miles’ background before joining FH includes; property, economic development, marketing, trade and investment and the aviation, aerospace and space industries. Miles lives locally in St Mawes and has over 40 years of sailing experience in the port. As Chief Executive, Miles is a member of the Board and is responsible for the sustainable growth of Falmouth Harbour, management and development of the Organisation.
Natasha joined the Board in January 2024 and brings 20 years’ experience in the environment and ecology fields. Natasha is Managing Director at Cornwall Environmental Consultants Ltd – the commercial arm of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust– Natasha has spent her time there growing the business to be consistently profitable, whilst continuing to offer high quality environmental advice.
Michael brings his board level experience in marina, leisure and property sectors,
James's extensive career includes experience of maritime, port and cruise-sector operational management.
After completing a Business degree at Plymouth Polytechnic, Kay embarked on an international HR career working in a number of sectors including water, gas and electricity utilities and generation, engineering, manufacturing, retail, logistics and port/harbour operations. She has worked at both executive and board levels for many years and is now keen to use her experience for the benefit of Falmouth Harbour's development. She lives in Cornwall and joined the Board in January 2025.
Andy has over 30 years local government senior leadership experience, including 5 years as Braintree District Council Chief Executive Officer. In 2022 he set up Axis Consultancy Services to facilitate the growth, development and improvement of organisations and individuals who share his public service values. He is a strong advocate of whole systems leadership and is currently a lead facilitator for Sport England and the Local Government Association on their place based leadership programmes aimed at increasing levels of physical activity across England.
In his spare time Andy likes to sail and keep himself fit and healthy.
